Volunteer Position: Front Desk Greeter
Overview:
The Front Desk Greeter is often the very first impression guests have of The Church Studio. This role is essential in creating a welcoming, professional, and engaging experience for all visitors. The greeter ensures guests feel comfortable, informed, and excited about their time in the studio while also supporting the overall flow of operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Warmly welcome every visitor upon arrival.

Offer a brief orientation of the space, including the lounge, gift shop, tour details, and restrooms.

Provide basic historical context of the building and gallery while visitors wait for a docent.

Collect email addresses for studio communications.

Share information about memberships and Leon Russell: The Illustrated Biography when appropriate.

Promote the “merchandise item of the week” and any special sales.

Take photos of guests in front of Leon’s portrait or other key locations when requested.

Notify team members when vendors, guests, or clients arrive for meetings.

Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting front desk area.

Assist with occasional errands, such as dropping packages at the post office.

Monitor visitor foot traffic and remain alert to overall security.

Follow and understand security procedures to ensure guest and staff safety.
Qualities & Skills:

Interest in music history and The Church Studio’s mission is a plus.
Time Commitment:
Flexible shifts available. Saturdays and event days are the busiest and most in need of support.
