Event/Volunteer Rental Volunteer – The Church Studio

Part-Time Volunteer Position | Reports to: Event Manager or Volunteer Coordinator

Position Overview:
Event/Volunteer Rental Volunteers at The Church Studio are the heartbeat of our guest experience during events. From bartending and food service to artist support and greeting guests, these volunteers create a warm, professional, and well-organized environment that reflects the spirit and mission of The Church Studio. 

Key Responsibilities:
Depending on the event and volunteer's interests or skill set, responsibilities may include:

  • Bartender
    Serve beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages responsibly. Check ID's, maintain a clean and stocked bar area and provide excellent customer service.

  • Bar Back
    Support bartenders by restocking drinks, ice, and supplies. Keep bar and surrounding areas clean and organized. Collect glassware and run dishwasher when needed. Stock clean glasses in designated areas.

  • Artist Concierge Services
    Assist artists with hospitality needs, including green room setup, refreshments, and general support. Ensure a comfortable and welcoming experience for performers.

  • Food and Beverage Assistant
    Help with the setup, organization, and distribution of food and beverages. May include replenishing items, assisting guests, or monitoring self-serve areas.

  • Kitchen/Hospitality Maintenance
    Maintain cleanliness and organization in hospitality spaces including the kitchen, refrigerator, drawers, and cabinets. Assist with event setup and cleanup, including detailed bar and service area cleaning.

  • Greeter
    Welcome guests with warmth and enthusiasm. Provide directions, hang coats, answer questions, and ensure attendees feel comfortable and informed upon arrival.

Qualifications:

  • Friendly, dependable, and professional demeanor

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Attention to detail, especially in food/beverage and cleanliness tasks

  • Ability to take direction and adapt to event needs

  • Previous hospitality or customer service experience is a plus but not required

  • Must be 21+ to serve alcohol (Bartender/Bar Back roles)

Training Provided:
Direction will be provided before event to ensure volunteers are comfortable and confident in their responsibilities.

Whether they’re preparing the green room for a performer, serving at the bar, or maintaining clean and inviting spaces, their behind-the-scenes efforts help support both music makers and the programs that serve them.

  • Educate:
    By assisting with public events, receptions, and artist engagements, hospitality volunteers help set the stage for meaningful cultural and educational experiences. Their presence allows guests to focus on the content of the event whether it’s a performance, tour, or exhibit by ensuring smooth operations and attentive service.

  • Inspire:
    Through warm hospitality and thoughtful service, volunteers contribute to an inspiring environment where creativity, connection, and community can flourish. They help elevate every event, leaving guests and artists alike with a memorable and uplifting experience that reflects the heart of The Church Studio.
